Kessler was diagnosed in utero with a congenital heart defect known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome or HLHS for short. Hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) is a congenital birth defect where the left side of the heart does not form correctly during pregnancy, resulting in an affected blood flow through the heart.
Kessler was born on November 13th, 2018. His first heart surgery was 7 days later at just one week old. He went on to have 3 more heart surgeries within 5 months of being inpatient as well as countless other procedures including a gtube placement.
Fast forward almost 3 years later, he is gtube free and happy as any three year old can be. He will need one more scheduled surgery, The Fontan, within a couple years.
” Right now we are so blessed with how well he is doing. We want to say how grateful we are to all of those that have been here for us both emotionally and financially and cannot thank everyone enough for being apart of Kesslers journey this far.” – Kessler’s parents.
Hearts of Hope Network is here to help Kessler’s family. Because of generous donations and support, we have sent Tony’s Hugs packages to each member of this family and are here to help throughout their journey.
Here at Hearts of Hope Network, every case is different and unique in its own way. We want to always be here to stand with these families in their time of need and beyond. Every donation goes toward supporting these families, and every donor is a part of showing these families that they are NOT alone.
Be part of our family.
