Meet Jack’s Family

Nine years ago, when Jack was a toddler, he was diagnosed with leukemia. He fought cancer bravely with his family by his side, and after three and a half years, Jack finished his treatment plan. That was in 2013, and he was officially given a clean bill of health in 2018. However, this past May at his five year appointment, the doctors found that his cancer had returned.

His long-term care oncologist recommended getting some bloodwork done for Jack, and on May 22nd, it was confirmed that his leukemia had relapsed. Instead of finishing up school and preparing for summer adventures like normal, Jack was immediately admitted to the hospital that night where he would have surgery two days later to get a new port places for his treatment to begin.

Jack’s fight with leukemia has had to begin again, which means he will be facing chemotherapy, new protocols, radiation, and multiple long-term stays at the hospital over the next 2 years. He has a large family by his side who also need support and love. Jack has four siblings and his mother is staying with him at home and during his treatments in the hospital while his father continues his work as a full-time pastor.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in time of trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)

jack's family fighting leukemiaHearts of Hope Network is here to help Jack’s family. Because of generous donations and support, we have sent Tony’s Hugs packages to each member of this family and are here to help throughout their journey.

Jack’s family is also fundraising on their own. While we are here to help, the cost of caring for a critically ill child can be very extreme. Many times, their parents have to take off work or quit working to care for their child. We thank you for supporting Hearts of Hope Network through donations, and if you would like to help support this family even further, please consider following their support links below.
