“Enzo, at 22 months, started to have daily fevers. We couldn’t figure out why, and neither could the doctors. Eventually, after hospital stays and many pediatrician appointments, they ordered a bone marrow biopsy.

The results quickly showed us that Enzo had JMML (Juvenile myelomonocytic leukemia) which is a very rare childhood cancer that results in too many myelocytes and monocytes (two types of WBCs). They are produced from immature blood stem cells called blasts.

Enzo has had several weeks of hospital stays since January, and now, most recently, 43 days of being in the hospital undergoing a bone marrow transplant. He has had countless blood and platelet transfusions, procedures, tests and placements. He recently got his transplant on June 28th and is currently still inpatient. When Enzo is able to be discharged from the hospital, our family is required to stay nearby the hospital for several months. We live very far from his treatment hospital (Laurinburg to Charlotte – Levine children’s hospital) and unfortunately don’t have any family or friends in the area either.

He is 1 of 4 boys in our family, and he just turned 2 in April! He is so brave and so strong during each long hospital stay, clinic visit, treatment, transfusion and each testing.

We ask for any and all support, love, prayers and positivity for him and our other 3 boys. We are a family of 6, and our boys are Zackery (6), Kash(4), Enzo (2) and Antonio (9 1/2 months).

We are a very close family, dealing with an extremely tough time – almost completely alone. Our family needs extra love and support – and so do our older boys, who are missing out on just being kids, as is our sweet little Enzo. Dad has also had to stop working in order for us to both to be there for our son and other three boys due to lack of support nearby.

We would appreciate your prayers and positive thoughts!”

Hearts of Hope Network is here to help Enzo’s family. Because of generous donations and support, we have sent Tony’s Hugs packages to each member of this family and have been able to help provide financial relief for bills for Enzo’s parents. We are working with them to find temporary housing during Enzo’s treatments, and are very glad to have them as a part of the Hearts of Hope Network family.

Enzo’s family is also fundraising on their own. While we are here to help, the cost of caring for a critically ill child can be very extreme. We thank you for supporting Hearts of Hope Network through donations, and if you would like to help support this family even further, please consider following their support links below.
